Required Permalink Setting
Editorify requires your WordPress site to use the "Post name" permalink structure. The app will not function correctly if your site uses the "Plain" permalink setting.
Why This Setting Is Required
The Editorify app needs predictable, SEO-friendly URLs to properly manage and edit your content. The "Plain" permalink structure (/?p=123
) is incompatible with many of Editorify's features and will cause functionality issues.
How to Set Up Your Permalinks Correctly
Log in to your WordPress dashboard
Go to "Settings" > "Permalinks"
Under "Common Settings," select "Post name"
This will display your URLs as
yoursite.com/sample-post/
Do NOT select "Plain" as it will break Editorify functionality
Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page
Verifying Your Settings
After saving your changes, verify that:
The Editorify app connects successfully to your site.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues after changing permalinks:
Double-check that "Plain" is not selected
Go back to Settings > Permalinks
Click "Save Changes" again even if no changes were made
Clear your site's cache
Try reconnecting the Editorify app
Important Notes
If you're setting up a new WordPress site, configure permalinks before installing Editorify
The "Post name" structure is also beneficial for SEO and user experience
